Sunset Laboratory also provides quartz samples that can be used for the sample collection. We can provide 25mm, 37mm or 47mm filters in petri dishes, and also 37mm filters in three-piece plastic cassette samplers. For any size of filter in the petri dishes, the cost is $4.00 per filter and minimum orders of 10 filters are preferable. For the 37mm filters in the plastic three-piece cassettes, we accept minimal orders of 5 and charge $7.00 each. All of our quartz filters provided are pre-fired to sterilization and then packaged in the petri dishes or cassettes, upon which point they are ready for sample collection. Quantity discounts are available for very large orders, please contact us. Results and Turn-Around Time

Sample sets containing less than 25 samples can usually be analyzed and reported within one to two weeks, and sometimes can be reported within the same week received. Larger sample sets may take longer depending on current work loads and the amount of samples sent. Larger sample sets should be scheduled ahead of time so that results are obtained quickly. Sunset Laboratory typically performs 100-200 OC/EC analyses per week.

Results are reported as micrograms per square cm of the filter deposit for each carbon species-elemental, organic, and inorganic carbonate(if present). If the necessary data are provided on a disk file (i.e., deposit area, flow rates and times, etc.) for MS-DOS, Windows, or Macintosh, the resulting data can be inserted for the calculation of results such as micrograms per cubic meter of sampled air. A printed copy of the results is sent by mail or fax. In addition, results can also be obtained as a data file on a floppy disk. The file can be sent as an Excel spreadsheet or other spreadsheet formats (csy or .txt) as an email attachment. When ordering, please let us know about the report formats you need.
